Fun Spiral Dye Cards

 June 5 2021

So many possibilities with the Spiral Dye stamp...

Here are 3 different card ideas using two colors of background spirals and a sentiment for all those tie-dye lovers out there!  (Don't forget your Deadhead friends!)  This stamp might even make for a good kids camp card-making activity!

Having a Stamparatus or some kind of stamp positioning platform/tool allows you to really easily create this two-color spiral effect.  The Spiral Dye stamp is designed so that you can stamp in one color, then rotate your paper 180 degrees and stamp in another color.  I positioned the stamp on my Stamparatus, inked it up, and then stamped the image on the fitted grid paper.  Then I marked the spot on the grid paper where I would position my pieces of cut-to-size white card stock each time.  I didn't even use the magnets and it worked fine.

Thank you card:
  • Polished Pink 4 1/4 x 5 1/2" standard card base (5 1/2 x 8 1/2 folded at 4 1/4")
  • Polished Pink and Daffodil Delight inked spirals stamped onto Basic White card stock cut to 1/8" smaller than the base (4 1/8 x 5 3/8")
  • The sentiment is from the Sweet Ice Cream stamp set and is stamped in Versa Mark ink and White heat-embossed onto Basic Black card stock, then punched out with the Tailored Tag Punch.
  •   Embellished with a Black and White bakers twine bow (twine is from the Playful Pets Trim Combo Pack).

Hello Friend (You're So Cool) card:
  • Blackberry Bliss 4 1/4 x 5 1/2" standard card base
  • Fresh Freesia and Coastal Cabana inked spirals stamped onto Basic White card stock cut to 1/8" smaller than the base (4 1/8 x 5 3/8")
  • The "Hello" and "friend" sentiments are from the Biggest Wish stamp set and inked in Coastal Cabana and Mimento Black inks, and "You're So Cool" is from the Sweet Ice Cream stamp set and is white heat-embossed on black like the sentiment in the card above. The circle was cut from a Layered Circle Die, or you can use a retired 2" circle punch if you own it.

Happy Birthday card:
  • Pale Papaya 4 1/4 x 5 1/2" standard card base
  • Pale Papaya and Calypso Coral inked spirals stamped onto Basic White card stock cut to 1/8" smaller than the base (4 1/8 x 5 3/8")
  • The sentiment is again from the Sweet Ice Cream stamp set and is white heat-embossed on black like the others. I fussy cut around the letters.
  • This card is embellished with some Matte Black Dots too!

Chances are,  a few people you know would probably enjoy a boxed set of tie-dyed cards.  The acetate card boxes hold up to five 4 1/4 x 5 1/2" cards plus envelopes.

Below is a picture of the first card I made with the Spiral Dye stamp and gave to a friend.  It uses Magenta Madness and Daffodil Delight, and I simply stamped the sentiment in black on white.  I like it equally as well.

Thanks so much for visiting, and I hope you were inspired by something!
